National Alliance on
Mental Illness

NAMI Franklin County has a New Mentor Program
Caring for a loved one with mental illness can be a difficult journey.
The Mentor Program is designed for family members — mentors and caregivers — bonded in a way like no other by the mental illness of a loved one. Caregiving, in general, presents challenges to most families who are holding down jobs, raising children, and taking care of their own needs and health. When caregiving also encompasses mental illness those everyday responsibilities are added to tasks that are daunting, frustrating, and often overwhelming.
